Meet our founder

Rebecca Sartain has been a homeschooling mom to four children for 15 years. The need for this school arose from the needs of her son not being met by public school or a boxed homeschooling curriculum. Through reaching her special needs son in different ways and sharing that knowledge with other families in similar situations, she realized an alternative was needed. The Link School was created with the help of another educator, Lori Kennedy who helped Rebecca’s son thrive and grow. Rebecca earned a BBA in Marketing and a Master of Science in Education with an emphasis on curriculum, instruction, and assessment. She completed a post graduate certificate in Criminal Justive-Behavior Analysis and is currently working toward a BCBA certification.

Our Timeline

2012

The Link School Opened it’s doors for the first time!

The Link School was founded by a mom, Rebecca Sartain, looking for the right learning environment for her special needs son.  She knew from the beginning that the school would have small class sizes (no more than six students per class) and focus on social and life skills as well as academics. The Link School had become one of 6 special needs schools in the state of Georgia.

2019

ABA therapy was formally added to daily curriculum in order to focus on implementing targets and behavior modifications for our students.

2020

Link School celebrated its first high school graduate!

2021-2022

Chickens named by the students, quickly became treasured school pets.  The students help feed and care for the chickens as a part of their daily chores.  They also learn how to cook those farm fresh eggs in their life skills class.

2023

In June 2023, the founder and principal of The Link School opened her own ABA company to service students at The Link School.  We have three RBT’s and two BCBA’s to help support our students and teachers and hope to add more very soon.

The Link School currently has eight teachers and four support staff employees. We serve 28 students, which is our maximum capacity.

The Link School Foundation has been created in order to serve the special needs community. We hope to provide additional resources for our students such as a facility with a vocational wing, lunch room, kitchen and laundry areas for life skills. We also hope to add adult education resources and to add other school locations to better serve our community.
